Field Service Technician I

Description

• Identify and report potential safety hazards.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protection equipment (PPE).
• Learn to identify and replace faulty components.
• Support experienced technicians in troubleshooting and repairing transformer malfunctions.
• Assist in the assembly of transformers at customer sites, ensuring proper placement and connection.
• Handle and transport equipment and materials safely.
• Communicating with the technicians and other team members.
• Learn and apply proper bolting, wiring, and other mechanical connection techniques.
• Participate in safety training programs and meetings.

Requirements

• Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays and nights.
• Must possess a current and valid driver’s license, and be able to maintain a good driving record.
• Ability to learn the practices and procedures of the industry.
• Must be able to crawl, climb, stand and lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions required in working in a power distribution facility preferred.
• Must be available for regular overnight domestic travel and occasional international travel.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Ability to learn to read and interpret a variety of power generation and distribution metering and recording devices.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to learn to read and interpret electrical diagrams and prints.
• NCCO Crane Certification
• Must be able to pass a fit for duty exam.
• Able and willing to travel up to 75% as needed.
• High School diploma or GED. Supplemental courses in electrical maintenance are desired.
• Some knowledge of the fundamentals and principles of mechanical preferred.
