Assist in development and execution of the commissioning plan and processes.
Inspect and monitor the installation of electrical systems, including airfield lighting, signage, power distribution, and control systems, to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
Assist in reviewing electrical plans, specifications, and submittals.
Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to resolve electrical-related issues.
Identify and document non-compliant installations for corrective action by the contractor.
Act as a liaison between contractors and stakeholders for notification and coordination of work that will interrupt normal operations.
May require occasional evening, weekend, or overtime work depending on project schedules.
Assist in monthly assessment of contractor progress and as-built documentation for progress payments.
Conduct quality assurance (QA) inspections for electrical components and systems.
Monitor contractor compliance with approved safety and security plans during all phases of construction and report any violations or hazards.
Prepare daily inspection reports, documenting construction activities, progress, issues, and corrective actions.
Interface and assist with oversight of sub-consultants performing 3rd party inspections or testing or other services.

Valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
Any TDOT certifications, OSHA Construction Safety and First Aid.
Must be able to obtain airport security badge.
Minimum of five years’ demonstrable experience in electrical construction inspection or minimum of ten years working in electrical construction industry.
Maintain familiarity and working knowledge of contract submittals, RFIs, changes and other project related elements.
Effective and timely verbal and written communication skills.
Must have the ability to read and interpret construction documents/standards and codes and be able to apply them to ongoing installations.
Able to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
Primarily field-based role with exposure to outdoor conditions, including weather and construction site hazards.
Computer literacy with working knowledge of basic Microsoft Office suite programs. Experience with cloud-based construction management software and PDF editing software is a plus.
Ability to communicate in a timely and effective manner in both written and oral formats.
Proactive self-starter with the initiative to act on assignments with minimal oversight.
Post-secondary education is preferred. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with clients, stakeholders, and other team members.
Detail oriented and well-organized.
Knowledge of FAA regulations and airfield electrical standards is preferred.
Willing to pursue and obtain certifications and credentials related to position. Certifications such as NICET, ICC, or equivalent in electrical inspection.
