The manager will be accountable for the department’s safety, quality, delivery, and overall performance while leading and developing staff through hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and timekeeping. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and scheduling work to meet customer commitments, overseeing various testing activities, ensuring compliance with standards, reviewing test documentation, translating customer requirements into actionable plans, supporting quoting and feasibility reviews, maintaining equipment safety, and representing Element with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure safety, quality, delivery, and operational performance of the Dynamics department.
- Lead, manage, and develop staff including hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and overtime approvals.
- Plan, assign, and schedule work to meet customer commitments.
- Oversee electrodynamic shaker, VR vibration, shock (classical and SRS), and MIPS testing activities.
- Verify testing compliance with MIL-STD-810, RTCA/DO-160, customer specifications, and Element procedures.
- Review and approve test setups, procedures, and reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Translate customer requirements into test plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Provide technical input for quoting and feasibility reviews.
- Maintain safe operation and proper condition of department equipment.
- Act as a professional representative of Element with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Identify and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives using Lean, 5S, and waste‑reduction methods.
- Support administrative tasks such as job tracking, invoicing, and departmental reporting.

Element is seeking a Dynamics Department Manager to lead the daily operations of its Dynamics department, ensuring vibration and shock testing are conducted safely, efficiently, and in line with applicable standards, quality systems, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate brings leadership experience in a laboratory or technical operations setting and possesses working knowledge of electrodynamic vibration systems, shock testing, and standards such as MIL-STD-810 and RTCA/DO-160.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience) and have at least five years of leadership experience in a laboratory, testing, manufacturing, or technical operations environment. Required expertise includes laboratory safety practices, vibration and/or shock testing programs, and the ability to interpret specifications, procedures, drawings, and standards. Preferred qualifications are familiarity with MIL-STD-810 and RTCA/DO-160, experience with electrodynamic shakers, VR vibration controllers, shock and MIPS testing, as well as knowledge of Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies, alongside strong organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
