Critical Facilities Manager - Data Center, Melbourne

Description

• Check daily routine cleanup of the data halls and review findings. Confirm all deployments are installed to applicable internal, manufacturer, and industry standards.
• Resolve unforeseen circumstances that occur and inform the client or Sr. senior management when needed.
• Oversee Information Technology equipment power installations, relocation and decommission requests.
• Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
• Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching.
• Conduct Risk Assessments and present recommended solutions to clients an senior management.
• Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
• Manage the local relationship with the client while working with other stakeholders to meet all contractual requirements.
• Lead by example and model behaviours that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence parties of shared interests to reach an agreement.
• Prepare detailed procedures for work execution.
• Ensure that all records are updated following any changes made. Ensure that documentation is also kept up to date for all applicable processes
• Responsible for ensuring the completion of configuration management, work orders, preventative maintenance, and repairs within the agreed contractual timeframe.
• Verify facility infrastructure equipment installations are within the agreed contractual timeframe.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues which may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes.
• Apply knowledge of own discipline and collaborates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.

Requirements

• Leadership skills to motivate team to drive results for quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department.
• Relevant operating experience for the facility infrastructure installed at the client facility. May require local jurisdiction licenses or certification, as needed. Ability to read and understand complex facility blueprints and Mechanical/Electrical one-line drawings preferred.
• Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention preferred.
• Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Proficiency and aptitude to use other technology tools and software.
• Ability to process and prioritize competing customer requests.
