Oversees the design and Quality Control of roadway and drainage deliverables to various transportation departments and municipalities
Oversees the Prepare and present project presentations, studies, and reports
Work closely with other service lines to support marketing and production efforts
Manage and leverage group's resources and capabilities to meet company and individual goals and objectives
Representing Volkert with clients and stakeholders, as well as industry and market environments
Lead the Southeast Drainage team supporting the growth and performance of the organization
Oversees the design of stormwater management facilities to meet water quality and quantity requirements
Leads staff to develop plans and calculations for transportation and drainage related projects
Oversees the performance of engineering deliverables associated with Drainage and roadway infrastructure improvements
Represent Volkert at conferences and other client-focused or industry-focused events and making presentations in areas of individual expertise when applicable
Have client contacts with the FDOT and Local Municipalities with the ability to market and obtain work
Hire, Retain, supervise, and mentor staff as Drainage Engineer Lead for Southeast Region
Provide team leadership, project management and mentoring of junior-level staff
Assist in developing project staffing plans and work forecasting
Manage staff in their performance in drainage design and production for transportation projects including calculations and plans preparation

Understands applicable policies, methods, practices, and procedures
Valid driver's license.
Prior experience as an experienced drainage engineer on civil or transportation projects
Experience in design of drainage conveyance systems and plans preparation in compliance with FDOT and other client standards
Experience in the following software: Geopak Drainage, Geopak, Inroads, Corridor Modeling, Microstation or other equivalent CAD software
PE Required
Florida Licensed Professional Engineer or if registered in another state, the ability to obtain registration in the State of Florida within six months
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 15+ years of drainage engineering experience post registration
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal guidelines may differ from state-specific guidelines.
Must be able to communicate effectively; verbal and written
Experience in Design software such as ICPR, and HEC-RAS
Experience and ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems
A satisfactory moto vehicle report (MVR).
