The ICD Wear & Maintenance – Undercarriage Engineering team is hiring a Design Engineer to support undercarriage components across the EM and HEX product families. The role owns design control for rollers, idlers, track groups, link assemblies, and related structures, focusing on product design, manufacturing, process quality, program timelines, and cost goals.
The engineer will develop design concepts and detailed drawings, support validation through testing and field trials, lead NPI and CPI efforts, and participate in APQP activities. Collaboration with suppliers, manufacturing facilities, and cross‑functional engineering partners is essential.
Candidates must hold an accredited engineering degree and possess expertise in undercarriage wear components, casting, forging, heat treatment, and NPI/CPI programs. Proficiency with Caterpillar systems (Creo, Teamcenter, HVC, EDS) and strong communication, teamwork, and customer‑focused mindset are required.
The position is based on‑site in Peoria, Illinois, working five days a week, with up to 10% travel and relocation assistance available. Visa sponsorship is not provided.
Compensation includes a base salary ranging from $97,530 to $146,290, an annual incentive bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package covering medical, dental, vision, 401(k), HSA, paid time off, parental leave, disability, life insurance, and wellness programs.
