- Delivering timely customer information, including announcements and Help Point responses.
- Accurately recording operational events in the OCC logbook.
- Responding to alarms and line faults, supporting incident management and recovery.
- Injecting standby trains into service as required.
- Monitoring train condition and arranging exchanges if Minimum Operating Standards are not met.
- Monitoring and regulating train services in normal, degraded and emergency modes.
- Coordinating safe shunting, test track operations and transfers.
- Managing train movements on the mainline and within the Stabling and Maintenance Facility (SMF).

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
- At least 3 years of control room experience within a transport system or equivalent.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a high-performing team.
- Attention to detail and a solutions-focused approach, particularly in degraded situations.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in rail or other transport operations.
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Rail Operations, Incident Management, or equivalent qualifications/experience.
