As a Project Controller, you will be responsible for safeguarding the financial health of high‑impact projects in Edmonton, AB. You will manage budgets, deliver insightful reporting, oversee cost control, and lead financial forecasting while ensuring compliance with contract requirements. Collaboration with project managers, contractors, and the finance team will be essential to deliver projects on time and within budget.
In this leadership position you will mentor and supervise Project Accountants, directing activities such as accounting administration, cost reporting, and audit participation. Your performance‑management and coaching skills will help build a motivated, high‑performing team and support their career development.
The role requires a minimum of six years of operational accounting experience, preferably in construction, telecom or manufacturing, and a proven track record of leading teams. A post‑secondary business degree is preferred, along with strong knowledge of construction contracts, legal terms, and construction methods. Advanced analytical abilities, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with construction accounting software (JD Edwards is a plus) are also essential.
The position is hybrid, allowing you to work both remotely and in the office as business needs dictate. Flexibility in scheduling supports work‑life balance while ensuring presence for critical project activities.
