Structural & Payload Design Engineer

Description

We are seeking a Payloads Design Engineer to support the design and development of commercial aircraft interior systems. This role focuses on the full product lifecycle, from early design and configuration through manufacturing support, testing, and certification.

As part of a collaborative engineering team, you’ll work on interior components such as overhead stow bins, partitions, closets, lighting structures, and wiring, helping ensure designs meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

• Contribute to improving design tools, processes, and analysis methods
• Develop and modify designs using 3D CAD tools (CATIA, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.)
• Support research into new technologies for future aircraft interior designs
• Assist in developing, integrating, and documenting structural and interior system requirements
• Provide engineering support to the production floor, especially during first-time or complex builds
• Support testing and validation to ensure systems meet design and regulatory requirements
• Hands-on involvement in commercial aircraft interior design
• Collaborate with suppliers to support design optimization, testing, and production

Preferred Experience (All Levels)

Level 3

• Experience owning designs and working more independently
• Strong background in 3D modeling and design
• Ability to meet schedule and delivery deadlines
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• 9+ years of relevant engineering experience
• Experience working on cross-functional engineering or production teams
• Strong experience across design, manufacturing, and certification support
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite
• 2+ years of experience with 3D CAD modeling
• Familiarity with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA regulations
• 2+ years of relevant experience (or Master’s with 0+ years)
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
