You will lead a skilled group of power systems engineers delivering end‑to‑end services from feasibility studies to detailed design and owners’ engineering, while working closely with over 300 global experts and adjacent disciplines such as offshore wind, grid connections and storage.
The position provides direct influence over the UK & Ireland market strategy, allowing you to grow the team, shape the pipeline, engage with TSOs/DSOs and developers, and raise the technical bar for studies and designs.
- Lead design and compliance studies (load flow, voltage control, stability, short‑circuit, protection, harmonic, EMT) for transmission and distribution systems up to 525 kV.
- Define technical assurance methods, conduct peer reviews, enforce quality gates and act as signatory for key deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with UK Grid Code, NGESO, EirGrid/SONI, ENA G99/G100 and IEC/IEEE standards; manage model governance and data quality.
- Champion best‑practice use of DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD/EMTDC, PSS®E, ETAP and promote scripting/automation.
- Shape and execute the UK&I Power Systems strategy, creating propositions for TSO/DSO connections, grid reinforcement, stability services and renewable integration.
- Lead business development pursuits, craft proposals and pricing strategies, and build strong client relationships with TSOs, DSOs and developers.
- Represent Ramboll at industry forums, produce thought leadership and cultivate partnerships with OEMs and technology partners.
- Recruit, mentor and develop a diverse engineering team, manage succession planning and support CEng/CMgr pathways.
