Transport for NSW is seeking a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join the Maintenance and Delivery team at Yennora on a 9‑day fortnight, Monday to Friday. The role involves maintaining and repairing a variety of plant items, vehicles and mechanical equipment, including installation, commissioning, modification and complex hydraulic/pneumatic machinery. You may also supervise apprentices or assist other mechanics as needed, and will be placed in a multi‑graded Mechanical Tradesperson (Grade 1‑3) structure with automatic progression based on demonstrated skills.
The ideal candidate has completed a Heavy Vehicle or Plant Mechanical trade, holds a current unrestricted NSW driver’s licence (and is willing to obtain a Medium Rigid or Heavy Rigid licence and a Construction Industry White Card), and possesses strong problem‑solving and fault‑diagnosis abilities. Safety awareness, the ability to report environmental hazards, and experience with heavy vehicles, welding or metal fabrication are highly regarded. An AIS Examiners Ticket is desirable. Salary ranges from $1,418.40 to $1,569.80 per week plus superannuation and allowances, and applicants must reside within a reasonable distance from the Yennora depot.
