Cut and Trim Technician

Description

The Blade Technician role at GE Vernova involves trimming, scuffing, and reinforcing various blade types. The position requires working with pneumatic tools, chemicals, and heavy machinery to prepare and repair blades.

Technicians follow and adapt work instructions, scuff laminate surfaces, remove defects, apply glue to voids, and grind excess glass and resin. They also clean blade interiors, adhere to confined‑space plans, wear required PPE, and maintain 5S standards.

• Follow and modify work instructions as needed
• Scuff laminate surfaces with a pneumatic grinder to remove gloss
• Remove laminate defects using various pneumatic tools
• Apply glue to voids inside and outside blades
• Grind excess glass and resin at the root end
• Clean blade interiors of dust and debris
• Adhere to confined‑space safety plan when working inside blades
• Wear designated PPE and respirator at all times
• Maintain 5S workplace organization standards
• Lift and carry objects up to 40 lb
• Push or pull heavy objects as required
• Stand for extended periods on concrete floors

Requirements

Candidates must be able to lift or carry up to 40 lb, push or pull heavy objects, stand for long periods on concrete, and operate hand and power tools. The role requires teamwork, individual work capability, respirator use, and either Lam I/II certifications or willingness to complete the practical training.

• Operate basic hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Obtain Lam I or Lam II certification through practical training if not already certified
• Hold a High School Diploma/GED or related experience; prior manufacturing experience preferred

Benefits
