The Corporate Director of Field Construction Operations is the company‑wide subject matter expert for field execution excellence. Reporting directly to executive leadership, this role shapes superintendent performance, development, and consistency across all business units, influencing field operations at every project site without having direct reports. The position offers remote flexibility with up to 75% travel.
Key responsibilities include assessing superintendent skills through site visits and interviews, creating individualized and group development plans, and leading a company‑wide Superintendent Training Program. The director also provides SME input for SOPs and execution standards, ensures superintendent alignment with safety and quality protocols, and benchmarks best practices. Additionally, the role participates in pre‑construction planning, supports site mobilization, troubleshoots execution challenges, conducts regular field audits, and tracks performance trends to recommend strategic improvements.
Applicants must have 15+ years of progressive construction field leadership, including senior project superintendent experience on large‑scale ($100M+) EPC, pharmaceutical, or food‑and‑beverage projects. A proven track record of improving field performance through training, process improvement, and coaching is essential, along with strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, safety, and quality control. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to influence without direct authority, and the ability to travel extensively across the continental United States is mandatory.
