Day Porter - FT

Description

The Day Porter is tasked with keeping common areas of office buildings, apartment houses, and other commercial or institutional facilities clean and orderly. Responsibilities include routine cleaning, inspections, and assistance to maintain a welcoming environment for occupants and visitors.

• Spot clean lobby glass doors and polish chrome on lobby doors
• Inspect building exterior and pick up any trash
• Clean ashtrays and sand urns on every floor
• Empty and clean exterior trash receptacles
• Check restrooms twice daily
• Sweep stairwells and landings as needed
• Remove debris from landscaped areas as needed
• Sweep building entrances
• Clean smudges and marks on walls, doors, and wall coverings
• Report any non‑functional lights or exit signs to management
• Report solicitors to management
• Police lobby to keep floors and planters free of paper and debris during high‑traffic times
• Assist building engineer daily as directed by management

Requirements

Success in this role requires consistent attendance, punctuality, and dependability, as well as strict adherence to safety and security procedures. The employee must follow instructions, take responsibility for actions, and promptly report issues such as lighting problems or unsolicited solicitations to management.

The work environment involves occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, and moderate noise levels, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
