Laboratory Technician

Description

• Perform laboratory testing procedures across multiple disciplines including Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Serology, Microbiology, and Spirometry.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures such as venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks for patients from newborn to 20 years old.
• Perform and document daily, weekly, and monthly quality control, including instrument maintenance.
• Report laboratory results to healthcare clinicians and alert them to any critical or out-of-range values.
• Document critical reports accurately.
• Maintain inventory of lab supplies, reorder, and stock as necessary.
• Assist in training Medical Assistants as needed.
• Prepare specimens for reference lab send outs, including labeling, resulting, and billing information.

Requirements

• Experience in performing various lab tests such as urinalysis, serology, hematology, microbiology, and spirometry.
• MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA) preferred.
• High School Diploma required.
• 2+ years of experience in performing phlebotomy in a fast-paced medical environment.
• Proficiency in Chemistry, Microbiology, Serology, Urinalysis, Hematology, and Phlebotomy.
