Test and verify the operation of new and existing software features and IED configuration tools, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines.
Author and review test plans and V&V reports, providing estimation, planning, and execution of tests for various product releases.
Learn and apply processes and tools used by the Test Engineering team.
Write test cases in the automation framework.
Implement final test procedures and produce validation test reports and relevant documentation.
Develop a deep knowledge of power industry protection functions.
Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of the automation framework for required features.
Document and present automation tool design and test results according to V&V policies and procedures.
Work on NPI and LCS release projects for GE Grid Solutions RRTC protection relays.

Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols: IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, T104, T103, T101, TCP/IP, and Serial communication.
Working knowledge of protection schemes such as Overcurrent/Earth Fault (OC/EF), Differential, Distance, Generator, and Motor protection.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in testing (manual and automated) of hardware, firmware, and software within an R&D environment.
Ability to establish a sense of urgency to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
Hands-on experience with JIRA, Xray, Confluence, Git, and other development/testing tools.
High-energy, self-starter with a proven track record of delivering results.
Understanding of Protection & Control systems for Generators, Transmission Lines, Motors, Transformers, and Busbar applications.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, or Power Systems Engineering.
Ability to perform functional testing and validation on Control and Relay panels (Protection and Digital Control Systems).
Capacity to listen, understand, and synthesize end-user requirements in a multicultural environment.
Deep knowledge on GE MICOM / UR / 8Series relay
Ability to work independently.
Experience with CT/VT calculations and protection relay setting calculations (advantageous).
Strong oral and written communication skills
Familiarity with IEC and ANSI standards.
Exposure to ABB, Siemens, SEL, and other major relay manufacturers (added advantage).
Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), white-box/black-box testing, Scaled Agile (SAFe), and Continuous Integration (CI) practices.
Familiarity with fundamental program tools and processes.
Excellent troubleshooting skills in complex embedded software applications.
Strong team player who fosters good working relationships with other functional areas.
Proficiency in Python development and coding (automation, scripting, and tool integration).
