Senior Archaeology Consultant

Description

• Undertaking detailed research, interpretation, and report writing, that accurately reflects the client's needs
• Managing small to medium size projects, including scoping and costing of projects, tracking job costs and coordinating consultants and sub-consultants, when necessary
• Directing and assisting more junior staff with assessments, field surveys and excavations, including in regional areas.
• Leading consultation, delivery of projects and various fieldwork in accordance with the relevant legislative guidelines and protocols
• Developing client and stakeholder relationships by building trust, providing quality advice and managing expectations

Requirements

• A proficient understanding of and ability to apply statutory heritage legislation, principles and the Heritage Act 1977, National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974(NPW Act) and the National Parks and Wildlife Regulations 2019 (NPW Regulations 2019); to resolve and advise on projects
• Able to lead field teams on surveys and excavations, including in regional areas.
• At least 5 years of demonstrated archaeology experience and strong track record within a similar role at similar level
• A tertiary qualifications in archaeology coupled with relevant experience in the archaeology industry
• Demonstrated ability to undertake complex archaeology and heritage research and methodologies; and present a comprehensive analysis of findings.
