Servicemen may assist Journeymen in repairing and servicing centrifugal, absorption, screw, and scroll chillers. You will perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems and recommend solutions to ensure facilities run efficiently. You will also identify enhancements that improve system reliability and sustainability, provide labor and material quotes, and receive incentives for executed recommendations.
The role includes participation in rotating weekend, night, and holiday call‑out service. Required qualifications include experience with air‑cooled chiller and large RTU coil/compressor replacements, adherence to the company Safety Program, a high school diploma or equivalent, and two years of commercial or industrial mechanical troubleshooting in HVAC. Candidates must possess knowledge of three‑phase commercial HVAC equipment, RTUs, heat pumps, fans, a valid driver’s license, EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification, and strong verbal and written communication skills, and be willing to join the UA of Plumbers and Pipefitters.
Preferred candidates have five years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience and knowledge of pump maintenance, VFDs, air handling units, and rooftop units. The position offers a $38.16 hourly rate determined by the collective bargaining agreement and benefits provided through a local labor union.
