The Shop / Plant Operator role is based in Montrose, UK and supports workshop operations by handling material delivery, maintaining a tidy and safe environment, and ensuring compliance with company procedures. The position requires flexibility to move between work cells, operate equipment such as forklifts and cranes, and engage with production visibility tools and improvement initiatives.
- Participate fully in HSE management and follow all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain compliance with QHSE system policies and procedures.
- Keep workshop tidy, adhere to 6S standards, and ensure proper waste disposal.
- Deliver materials and test equipment to the workshop as needed.
- Work within designated labour hour cycles for direct and indirect tasks.
- Flexibly transfer between work cells, perform clean‑up tasks, and operate forklifts to support operations.
- Follow PPE and HRO requirements, including crane, forklift, MEWP, and work‑at‑height protocols.
- Complete required documentation and update project visibility boards.
- Engage with HSE and quality systems (concern reports, stop‑work, quality issues).
- Participate in on‑site production improvements such as YESS and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with COSHH regulations and maintain the COSHH register.
- Accurately process Oracle vouchers to support correct PMR reporting.
- Monitor personal utilization and its impact on business requirements.
- Adhere to time‑and‑attendance rules and maintain core competencies per BH competency cycle.
- Manage annual holiday entitlement and personal absence records.
- Provide flexible coverage for holidays and overtime as needed.
- Complete refresher and online training within required timelines and maintain competency records.

Candidates must have relevant experience in an Oil & Gas environment, particularly in labour or preparation and coating applications, and hold certifications for forklift, overhead crane, MEWP, and working at heights. They should be able to manage documentation, training, and competency records while adhering to HSE, QHSE, and COSHH standards.
