The Procurement Engineer – MEP will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for MEP projects. This role involves sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining cost efficiency while upholding quality standards.
Monitor procurement budgets and ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions. Prepare cost estimates, analyze market trends, and implement strategies to achieve cost savings.
Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with potential suppliers and subcontractors. Maintain a database of approved vendors and assess their performance regularly.
Ensure that procured MEP materials and equipment meet required quality standards and specifications. Address any issues related to product quality, delays, or discrepancies.
Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and correspondence. Prepare and present regular reports on procurement performance and project status.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies throughout the procurement process.
Manage the procurement process for MEP projects, including sourcing suppliers, obtaining and evaluating quotes, and negotiating contracts for MEP materials, equipment, and services.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project needs and ensure procurement aligns with project requirements and schedules.
Strong understanding of MEP systems, procurement processes, and supply chain management.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
5 to 8 years of experience in procurement, specifically within the MEP sector of the construction or engineering industry.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
