  • Prepare and manage the annual asset maintenance operating budgets for marine-based assets, ensuring effective planning and cost control.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans including resource allocation, work programs, parts and plan management, procurement approach and record and data management.
  • Establish and manage the maintenance strategy for Port authority's marine-based assets including development of procedures, team structure, procurement approach and record and data management.
  • Procure, manage, and monitor outsourced maintenance contracts in line with Port Authority's supplier governance framework, to ensure delivery on agreed key performance indicators.
  • Supporting professional development opportunities including study assistance, paid individual professional membership, and access to our leadership program.
  • Work closely with the Asset Manager - Marine in the development, implementation and monitoring of asset maintenance standard procedures and practices to ensure Port authority's compliance with statutory obligations as owner and operator of the vessel fleets across all sites.

  • Demonstrated strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Experience leading vessel maintenance teams and coordinating external service contractors.
  • Willingness to be based in office 5 days a week
  • Ability to read and interpret technical information including specialist reports and engineering drawings.
  • Hold a valid driver's license.
  • Experience working in an unionised environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, power generation, propulsion and hydraulics

  • This role is open to Australian Citizens or Australian Permanent Residents only.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to Port Authority's port locations as required to meet operational needs.
  • Marine engineering experience, supported by a maritime or trade qualification.
