Principal Power Systems Engineer (Leadership role) - Consultancy

Description

• Help with deliverables, schedules and budgets for client projects and studies
• Conduct and coordinate technical studies related to grid connection of renewable energy projects
• Serve as technical lead for consulting engagements within the Power Systems service offering.
• Enhance personal competence in several specialised technical areas, such as: power quality, electromagnetic transients, earthing and protection
• Assist with PSCAD and PSS/E modelling according to 5.3.4 AEMO standards

Requirements

NES FIRCROFT are searching for an experienced power systems engineer for a leading tier 1 consultancy. The business has an established team of experts that have been tackling the most intricate problems for some of the most prominent industry stakeholders for over 20 years.

• Good understanding of PSS/E and PSCAD network simulation software will be highly regarded along with using python scripting as a supporting tool.
• Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering
• Full legal working rights in Australia
• Ability to work to deadlines and exceed client expectations
• 4-8 years’ experience in power system analysis in generation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
