Senior Piping Materials Engineer

Description

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (process, mechanical, procurement, construction) throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead material selection based on process conditions, corrosive environments, and client specifications.
• Drive quality and consistency across material engineering deliverables and ensure alignment with project schedules.
• Support construction and commissioning teams with material-related technical guidance and issue resolution.
• Ensure design compliance with ASME, API, ASTM, and other relevant industry codes.
• Review and approve vendor documents, material test certificates, and other deliverables.
• Develop and review piping material specifications, valve data sheets, and piping classes in accordance with project requirements and international standards.
• Conduct technical evaluations for vendor offers and support procurement in material sourcing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proficient in material take-offs, BOMs, and material management systems (e.g., SmartPlant Materials).
• Strong familiarity with industry codes such as ASME B31.3/B31.8, API, ASTM, NACE.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Piping Materials Engineer in EPC oil & gas projects (onshore and offshore).
• Experience with vendor coordination and procurement engineering.
• Strong communication, team leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Extensive knowledge of international piping material standards and specifications.
