Properly assigns technical resources for problem resolutions on projects as necessary.
Under general supervision, develops and updates project implementation plans, coordinating resources to insure timely and cost-effective installation and completion of assigned projects or tasks.
Responsible for practicing safe work habits and participates in office safety program requirements and that of any specific safety requirements of all assigned projects.
Participates in the ongoing personal development program with other engineers for processes, product and systems knowledge required of the business.
Plans and monitors commissioning process and checkout of the system before release to the owner/operator. Ensures job completion documentation is complete.
Contributes to effectively manage a project’s cash flow, cost, and billings.
Manages, supports, mentors, and develops Jr level Project Engineers as assigned.
Ensures owner/operator is familiar with and has been trained on the total system. In addition, provides proper project closeout documentation and/or manuals for system operations.
Takes personal responsibility for the successful completion of any assigned formal training and any ongoing development program activities.
Develops and maintains internal project construction schedules relative our scope of work utilizing 3 rd party software programs such as MS Project as required.
Provides input to the PM to consistently produce billings in a timely and accurate manner in a format required by our customers and ensures that billings are clearly communicated to our customers.
Manages and provides documentation for the project file including correspondence, requests for information, change orders, logs, and project schedules.
Proactively evaluates potential problems on the job and initiates action to limit negative outcomes. Reviews customer’s systems during installation and, if needed, points out other areas of improvement resulting in value added change orders. Provide estimates for additional work for customer with help of project manager.
Manages material procurement process for the projects assigned. May select and order appropriate materials. Maintains and monitors material usage, cost and inventory control. Obtains lead time discounts when possible.
Develops and maintains viable relationships with customers, prime contractors, subcontractors and trade personnel.
Attends and successfully completes OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 safety training classes. Will adhere to all Company and site-specific safety standards & requirements and have a high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety
Coordinates on-site visit for service personnel and ensures transition to service is achieved.
This position is required to maintain all profitability goals and positive cash flow on all assigned projects.
Supports the engineering design process to include coordination with controls engineering team activities. Will provide input for configuration, design and engineered systems in most cost-effective manner while maintaining quality and ensuring customer satisfaction. Manages and oversees project construction for compliance with specifications, codes, material, installation techniques, safety activities and Sunbelt standards.
The employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear.
Works with the Project Manager to insure profitable completion of each project.
Effectively communicates financial status to management.
Develops personal intellectual and technical product knowledge specific to the needs of the business and that of specific projects.
Supports a portfolio of multiple ongoing projects throughout the project life cycle while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction, financial goals, and quality.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
Attends job progress meetings as necessary and provides detailed instructions to and interfaces with installers and subcontractors.
