In this role you will support the electrical team by preparing work areas, handling tools and materials, and performing basic wiring tasks such as measuring, cutting, bending, and installing cables and conduit. You will also help with testing, splicing, and terminating wires, and ensure that all work aligns with safety and productivity standards while maintaining clear communication with foremen and crew members.
The Apprentice Electrician will work under the guidance of a certified or licensed Electrician at Bergelectric Corp., assisting with the installation of new electrical systems and the repair of existing ones. The role spans commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential projects and requires strict adherence to national, state, and local electrical codes as well as company policies. This position is classified as safety-sensitive.
Candidates must be enrolled in an approved electrician apprenticeship program and possess a solid foundation in electrical theory, circuit design, and specialty systems. They should be able to read single-line blueprints, understand three-phase transformer operation, and be familiar with the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment. Safe tool usage and a basic knowledge of wiring methods are also required.
The position involves frequent lifting of up to 50 lb, climbing ladders, and working in a 25 lb tool belt while squatting, stooping, or kneeling for extended periods. Work may be performed outdoors in various weather conditions and in high-noise environments, often from ladders, man lifts, or reach booms.
