  • Supports the project Safety Plan though personal involvement in all aspects of Safety, including training, safety protective equipment and clothing, and adhering to safety requirements pertaining to particular trades or skills.
  • Inspects work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, policies, and regulations.
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and/or walk for long periods at a time, sit, use of hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, or smell.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and follow safe lifting procedures.
  • Utilizes blueprints, drawings, models, or takes verbal instructions in the planning and layout of work.
  • Performs a variety of duties including patching minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings; repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, toilets; painting structures and equipment; replacing damaged sheet rock, floor tiles, and ceiling tiles; hanging doors and installing door locks; and general masonry work.
  • Ensures proper housekeeping practices are observed.
  • Maintains and operates company vehicles and/or tools and equipment in compliance with company policy.
  • Assists other crafts and trade personnel in their daily operations.
  • Participates in snow removal operations.
  • Tasks may be performed in uneven, inclined, hard and soft-carpeted surfaces/floors, cement structures and surfaces.
  • Participates in installation general clean-up operations.
  • Utilizes a variety of equipment and tools for maintenance and repair in the carpentry, roofing, painting, plumbing, masonry and heavy equipment operation trades.
  • Assists other crafts and trades personnel in their daily operations.

  • Ability to pass drug screen and background check.
  • This position has been designated for Mission Critical Work. If called or re-called to work during times when Mission Critical Work must be performed, the employee must respond to assigned duties.
  • Working closely and harmoniously with fellow workers.
  • Working knowledge (less than Journeyman) in carpentry, plumbing, masonry, painting, electrical and/or other general maintenance tasks.
  • Timely, accurate, cost-effective performance of duties.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Compliance with contract requirements and CGS policies and procedures, including Rules of Conduct.
  • Work experience supporting a military base or civilian installation.
  • Possesses and maintains a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain government identification/common access card.
  • Ability to use tools, equipment, chemicals, pesticides, etc. to perform essential functions of the job.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment /tools as may be required for the position (computer, phone, copy machine, hand-held radio, etc.)
  • Work is preformed indoors and outdoors. Outdoor work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision.
  • Adherence to all safety and health rules and regulations.
  • May be required to enter confined spaces.
  • Skill in the operation and repair of required tools and equipment related to general maintenance.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
