The Process Engineering Intern will support refinery initiatives focused on the design, optimization, and operation of complex chemical processes, including field work that may involve climbing, confined‑space entry, and exposure to moving equipment. The role involves documenting detailed reports, participating in committees, and learning to track, monitor, and justify projects to gain practical training experience.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment following safety procedures.
- Troubleshoot equipment, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in technical investigations, design, and performance analysis of equipment.
- Develop, select, and test equipment and components to identify best‑in‑class technologies.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineers to solve equipment problems via root‑cause analysis.
- Oversee mechanical/instrumentation equipment, generate critical equipment lists, and update P&IDs and specifications.
- Plan, design, and write specifications for process equipment.
- Work independently and within cross‑functional teams to improve supply chain performance and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare reports, documents, and files.
- Perform process simulation.
- Conduct process monitoring and control.

- Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Available to work at least 40 hours per week.
- Basic knowledge of industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with SDS and safety protocols in a mechanical environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Skill in recording and presenting data clearly.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Good organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
