Locators mark findings with flags or paint, capture photographs, and record all information in a cell‑phone app that generates required reports and memos. They also investigate any damage incidents and prepare comprehensive written documentation.

Candidates must have at least two years of locating experience, a solid understanding of 811 regulations, and the ability to read technical drawings. A valid driver’s license, DOT physical certification, and ability to pass a drug screen are required, along with willingness to travel over 75% and work in all weather conditions.
