The Shipboard Motor Transport Mechanic maintains, services, inspects, and repairs combustion‑powered automotive vehicles, over‑the‑road trucks, light combat vehicles, and other motor transport equipment. Additional tasks are performed as assigned.
Applicants must be high school graduates or hold an equivalent credential, with a vocational certificate in automotive or electrical repair preferred. A minimum of four years of directly related experience and completion of basic, organizational, intermediate, and advanced motor transport maintenance courses are required. Candidates must possess a valid passport, state driver’s license, and be able to obtain a Common Access Card, Secret Clearance, and U.S. citizenship.
