Sewer Maintenance Operative

Description

• Ensure that any ideas that may enhance the productivity or systems of the company are brought to the attention of Senior Management, or your colleagues
• Assist drainage teams by preparing access routes and maintaining clear working areas.
• Perform scoping for follow on activities as appropriate.
• Check condition of any drainage assets uncovered ensuring they are left safe, escalating where an environmental or customer safety risk is present.
• Remove and correctly dispose of green waste and debris from site.
• Work in accordance with health, safety, and environmental procedures, including safe use of tools and PPE.
• Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them.
• Report any site hazards, damage, or obstructions encountered.
• Carry out minor ground preparation to ensure safe access points for drainage works.
• Adhere to all company policies
• Safely operate hand tools and powered equipment (e.g., strimmer, hedge cutter, brush cutter…).
• Maintain a clean and professional standard of reinstatement where required.
• Perform asset maintenance checks on a variety of drainage assets including anti flood devices, non-return valves, combined sewer overflows and other drainage elements.

Requirements

• Clear overgrown vegetation, shrubs, weeds, roots and any obstructions around drainage assets such as manholes, gullies, and culverts.
