KBR is seeking a Technical Writer II (temporary) to support the Army LCU Watercraft Project’s Service Life Extension Program (SLEP). The writer will work closely with subject‑matter experts to validate, refine, and capture technical content, producing high‑quality documentation within a timeline‑driven environment. The role directly contributes to reliable, mission‑critical technical materials that enable watercraft modernization.
Basic qualifications require a bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, or a related field, or ten years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree, plus at least two years of related work. Candidates must be U.S. citizens able to obtain a Common Access Card and security clearance. Experience editing XML/SGML and preparing documentation to military specifications is essential.
Preferred qualifications include the ability to develop or update printed manuals, CDRLs, I‑type and OEM documents using tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Arbortext Editor, Oxygen XML Editor, and EMS‑NG. Familiarity with the U.S. Army Interactive Authoring and Display System (IADS) is advantageous.
