Collaborate with OEMs, EPCs, and internal design teams to evaluate and implement advanced technologies in power generation and transmission
Manage full lifecycle of projects: scope definition, proposal development, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and quality assurance
Drives cross-functional technical engagements with internal and external stakeholders
Communicate and collaborate with all key stakeholders including executive level staff to ensure alignment of the overall strategy
Identifies and resolves various supplier management problems
Owns cost savings proposals and interacts closely with suppliers, and internal customers, to achieve the cost savings, commercial and other demonstrable business benefits
Support business development through proposal strategy, market assessments, and participation in client presentations and conferences

Application of IEEE and local electrical codes in system design and compliance reviews.
Leads the end-to-end supplier management process
Act as primary procurement contact for utility interface, ensuring compliance with interconnection requirements, grid codes, and industry standards
Drive product innovation and value engineering
Aligns with internal customers regarding best negotiation positions and provide stakeholders with a balanced view of contract risk and liabilities
Leads a vendor management strategy to reduce and consolidate global vendors for the category
Cultivate and manage strategic internal and vendor relationships, driving collaboration and long-term partnerships
Supervise multi-disciplinary teams, providing mentorship, technical oversight, and operational leadership

Ability to review detailed electrical design documents, including single-line diagrams, grounding plans, equipment specifications, schematics, P&C control logic, and protection coordination studies
Experience with product development in HV electrical equipment and systems integration
Strong knowledge of grid interconnection standards, utility planning practices, and regulatory requirements
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required (up to 30%)
Advanced understanding of major substation design criteria and associated trade-offs for various topologies (Ring, BAAH, Sectionalized Bus, Double Bus Double Breaker, Single/Radial Bus, etc.)
Expertise in HV substation design, switchgear specification, transformers, protection relays and automation controllers
Proven track record in consulting, engineering design, and execution of large-scale utility or industrial power projects
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field;
Skilled in comparing technical specifications, performance metrics, and lifecycle cost for transformers, HV switchgear, Steam Turbines and Generators
Proven track record of technical due diligence during vendor selection processes

Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $177,000 to $265,000 per year Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. This position may be offered in other locations.
