  • Creating and delivering persuasive and engaging presentations to client/s.
  • You will be responsible for implementing appropriate programme delivery environments, including people, organisation, process, information and technology.
  • You will ensure the successful delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives.
  • Effective implementation of PMO and project controls framework)/strategy on assigned commissions.
  • Contributing to the periodic reporting and structured governance and performance meetings.
  • Day-to-day management on assigned commissions on all PMO and project controls matters.
  • You will champion a diverse and inclusive working environment and understand the importance of the wellbeing of the people you manage.
  • Delivering support in all areas of PMO and project controls performance on assigned commissions.
  • You will actively network, innovate, and seek understanding of best practice, utilising the full depth of knowledge of Mace group, the centres of excellence, Mace way control centre and knowledge hub.
  • Collaborating with PMO Director and/or project manager to address actions, recognise opportunities and mitigate risks and issues.
  • You will manage your team effectively and develop others to reach their full potential.
  • Providing sound technical advice and support to project team in the administration of the PMO and project controls process, particularly with respect to the cost, schedule, change and risk to achievement of key objectives and the escalation of performance and management issues.
  • You will commit to making a positive impact for our people, our clients, and our planet, and take ownership for holding others to account who do not uphold the Mace values.
  • You will collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders, up to C-Suite, to implement and manage our programmes.
  • You will be responsible for project budgets and ensure operations are fiscally and ethically viable and meet organisational and legislative compliance obligations.
  • Supporting junior PMO and project controls resources and other project staff as required.
  • Monitoring the development of project quantitative risk analysis (cost and time).
  • Collaborating in the integration of project controls with PMO and planning disciplines.
  • Guiding the development and management of the baseline (scope, time, cost, risk, assumptions) and subsequent delivery performance, change and contingency monitoring.
  • You will promote and influence quality and service excellence in all conversations and programme interactions.
  • Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
  • You will support the operations director and other senior stakeholders to directly influence long term development of strategy for a function or business unit (BU), creating a sustainable business future.
  • Building strong professional relationships with client/client representatives.
  • You will be a leading advocate of Mace's value of safety first, and be accountable for leading and maintaining exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability and project compliance standards.
  • Guiding activities/operations to ensure that are carried out in line with Mace control centre, client requirements and prevailing legislation.

  • Up to 5yrs experience or equivalent supporting the delivery of a range of PMO and project controls services within the construction sector and/or management consultancy.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviours, relationships and still secure a positive outcome.
  • You will possess advanced technical expertise in local health and safety rules and regulations relevant to project portfolio.
  • Effective communication and engagement skills.
  • Relevant university degree (e.g. construction, engineering) or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of PMO and project controls tools, techniques and software (e.g. MS office and Power BI, Aconex, Primavera P6 and Risk Hive).
  • Progress towards achievement of chartered status (or equivalent) and/or membership of professional a relevant professional institution e.g. association of project managers.
  • Exhibits some commercial acumen at times.
  • Working knowledge of PMO and project controls service delivery in one or more sectors (e.g. rail, highways, nuclear, public sector, hospitals).
  • Good communication and engagement skills.
  • Experience of working on complex construction projects and major consultancy commissions.
  • Ability to support the establishment of high performing teams.
  • Mace behaviours (curious, collaborators, contributors, champions) - good compliance and maturing behaviours as required.
  • Effective networking skills.
  • Experience of delivering effective PMO and project controls services/assurance frameworks/strategies.
  • Understanding of construction/delivery lifecycle.
  • APM Planning and project controls (PPC) foundation and practitioner.
  • Resilient/robust in the face of challenging situations, clients, personalities.
