You’ll be part of the team that keeps automation projects moving by supporting data‑center startups, performing on‑site mechanical, electrical, and control checks, and leading startup, checkout, and acceptance testing for warehouse fulfillment and manufacturing systems in industries such as food and beverage. You will partner with automation and controls engineers to test, troubleshoot, and validate their systems on‑site, and provide clear communication and updates to customers and project teams. Typical travel rotations follow a days‑on/days‑off schedule (5 on‑2 off, 10 on‑4 off, or 14 on‑7 off), and you will work with a variety of customers, gaining real‑world experience with large companies while the ProAutomated team supports you.
For those who’d rather be on the move than behind a desk, we’re opening our 2026 hiring pipeline now for curious, adaptable problem‑solvers who love travel, hands‑on work, and being part of a team that actually knows your name. If you can laugh through flight delays, figure things out on the fly, and enjoy solving complex problems, this role could be a perfect fit.
We believe in transparency. Our four‑week paid training is designed to prepare technically skilled individuals for the field, and success requires a basic foundation in electrical systems, programming, and communication networking. If you’re new to these areas, this role may not yet be the right fit.
We are looking for candidates who love travel and can live away from home on rotation, have a working knowledge of electrical systems, programming, and communication networking, and thrive when plans change. Strong communication, problem‑solving skills, adaptability, and grit are essential, as is living within 50 mi of a major airport, having a personal vehicle available within 45 days, and being authorized to work in the U.S. A technical degree or equivalent hands‑on experience of at least three years in electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering is required.
Physical requirements include the ability to walk long distances across large facilities, climb ladders or work at heights, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lb, and stand, kneel, or reach for extended periods. Work may occur in varied environments such as construction sites, outdoors, and hot or cold conditions, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
Work + Travel, Combined. You’ll experience new cities, tackle unique projects, and earn travel rewards while working directly with customers across North America. There is no office to report to, and you’ll be away from home while you’re on the job.
Fair Pay That Grows With You. Starting salary ranges from $60,000 to $75,000 depending on location, education, and experience. You’ll also receive per‑diem for meals, mileage reimbursement, utilization bonuses, weekend bonuses, and more.
Room to Grow. We invest in your development through paid training, annual merit raises, and a 5 % salary increase after six months. We’ll support your learning and advancement, even if you eventually move on from ProAutomated.
Real Benefits + Real Flexibility. We offer health, dental, and life insurance, a matching 401(k), short and long‑term disability options, paid vacation, and flexible time off after 18 months. We take care of you on and off the job.
A Team That Gives You Community. We’re a smaller, people‑first company where teamwork, adaptability, and humor are part of the job. All leaders have grown into their positions, so your manager has done the work they ask of you, and you’ll be surrounded by colleagues who have your back.
If you want a challenging, travel‑filled career where your effort truly matters, we’d love to meet you. ProAutomated is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values diversity and is committed to an inclusive environment where all team members feel respected and supported.
