Development of equipment specifications, requests for quote (RFQ’s)
Tracks and monitors potential changes and associated costs
Maintaining project plans and schedules
Evaluating equipment requirements and ensuring proper integration into the packaging systems.
Develop & implement an acceptance test plan for the equipment at the vendor’s facility and for the installed system at the customer’s facility
Documentation of packaging system design calculations
Manages project schedule and budget control with support from the Engineering Manager
Mentors other project resources.
Ensures that there are complete and accurate specifications for packaging materials and packaging equipment
Establishing resource schedules
Supports the negotiation of scope changes.
Vendor communication and management for design, checkout, installation, startup, and closeout
Direct the work of construction crews & service technicians
Supports the Engineering Manager for project financial reporting and status maintenance.
Ensure all drawings are updated at the completion of the project
Develop and implement design standards for projects
Work with automation engineers to establish a sequence of operation & control system architecture
Develop personal technical skills as well as those of co-workers
Review and analysis of vendor proposals for equipment, installation services, etc.
Uses knowledge and experience to develop innovative solutions to our customer's packaging challenges.
Develops line layouts with designers and design engineers
Coordinating Project Teams
Performs analysis of proposed and potential systems to present Value Engineering options to the facility owner for their consideration for the incorporation into the project.
Proactively attempts to receive in-house/out-of-house training to maintain design skills
Assumes responsibility for all mechanical design details and execution for their assigned projects.
Designs project within provided design budget and monitors when the scope is expanded.
Leads or supports the development of proposals for customers and potential customers.

Seven (7) to fifteen (15) years of experience in packaging and production systems and/or automated manufacturing systems is preferred
Computer-aided design (CAD) is desirable
Professional registration preferred
Experience in the food, pharmaceutical, beverage, or consumer products industries is preferred
Maintains knowledge of packaging equipment and innovations.
Engineering Degree from an accredited four-year program
Problem-solving for field oversight
