The consultant will develop cost‑control functions for energy projects, establish detailed controls plans, produce financial and earned‑value reports, prepare budgets, and maintain baseline cost and schedule data. They will also administer change control, track invoices and progress payments, and communicate control needs to line managers and project personnel. Occasional travel to the South Coast, up to one night per week, or residence within commuting distance of London and Brighton, is required.
The company is hiring a Project Controls Consultant to work from its flagship London office or other UK locations such as Birmingham, Manchester or Bristol. The role is responsible for managing and delivering project and programme controls, tracking actual and forecast costs, and providing clear project status to support business delivery. The position sits within AECOM’s Integrated Programme Controls team and requires proven PMO best‑practice experience on infrastructure projects.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and have multi‑discipline project experience, including leading project controls on programmes. Essential skills include scheduling, budgeting, cost reporting, earned‑value analysis, and the preparation of control plans and reports under tight deadlines. Proficiency in MS Office, Primavera P6, and Power BI is preferred, together with strong analytical, problem‑solving and detail‑orientation abilities.
