The Gas Operator is responsible for safely operating trenching machines to install natural gas pipelines, digging around underground utilities, placing pipelines in the trench, and providing adequate backfill. This role supports the Line team and collaborates with other department personnel.
The position is field‑based and requires frequent bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 50 lb), standing, and twisting, often in extreme weather conditions. Employees must have clear vision at distance or close range, precise hand‑eye coordination, and the ability to distinguish colors.
