The manager acts as the focal point for safety management issues related to product and process, controls the SMS implementation plan on behalf of the plant’s Accountable Manager, and facilitates hazard identification and risk analysis via Safety Committee meetings. They oversee daily operations of the Inspection team, ensuring effective cross‑training, timely scheduling, and optimal resource allocation, and they drive continual improvement of the SMS.
The role disseminates safety performance information at Management Reviews, maintains safety documentation, and participates in the development, selection, and deployment of SMS training. The manager also coordinates with the relevant National Aviation Authority on behalf of the Accountable Manager and monitors safety concerns reported within the aviation community that could affect the organization.
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Product and Process Safety Manager to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with UK CAA and EASA requirements. This role is critical in ensuring that our aerospace products and manufacturing processes meet the highest safety standards.
Candidates must hold a degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Safety Management or a related field, and have proven experience in safety management within the aerospace or aviation sector. In‑depth knowledge of CAA/EASA SMS requirements, regulatory frameworks, and safety tools such as hazard logs, safety cases, and risk matrices is required. Experience as a people manager, familiarity with international aviation safety standards (e.g., ICAO Annex 19, CAA Part 145), and the ability to work with cross‑functional manufacturing teams are also essential.
