The position is based in Bismarck, ND, and serves as a senior leader responsible for maintaining and expanding Apex Engineering Group’s municipal services for both public and private clients in the North Dakota market. Reporting directly to the Municipal Sector Leader, the role involves overseeing short‑ and long‑term revenue goals, project budgets, staff recruitment, and new client opportunities.
The leader will manage client relationships, develop strategic partnerships, and collaborate with internal sector leaders on project pursuits and staffing. They will mentor engineers, drive business development and marketing activities, attend industry conferences, and provide financial and progress reports. Additionally, the role requires adherence to company policies, effective communication in public settings, and participation in professional and community organizations.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, be a licensed professional engineer in ND, and bring at least 10 years of municipal engineering experience with 7 years of project management in the state. Experience with public agencies, consulting engineering business development, and professional organization involvement is preferred. Strong communication, Microsoft Office proficiency, detail orientation, and a valid driver’s license are also required.
