The Lead Project Controls Specialist supports and guides project execution on‑site, providing comprehensive planning and controls leadership. Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, this role is a key member of the project leadership team and fosters collaboration among stakeholders to ensure timelines, budgets, and performance metrics are achieved.
Key responsibilities include developing detailed project plans and schedules with industry‑standard tools, identifying critical path activities, monitoring costs, overseeing change control, and preparing budgets. The specialist also evaluates change‑request impacts, conducts risk assessments, establishes KPIs, and communicates status, risks, and recommendations through reports and review meetings.
- Develop project plans and schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
- Identify critical path activities, milestones, and dependencies
- Monitor project costs and propose cost‑optimization strategies
- Oversee change control process with proper documentation and approvals
- Assist in preparing budgets by analyzing estimates, resources, and procurement plans
- Evaluate change‑request impacts on schedule, cost, and resources
- Identify risks and create mitigation and contingency plans
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk assessments throughout the project lifecycle
- Establish KPIs and metrics, analyze data, and provide actionable insights
- Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders via reports and meetings
- Collaborate with project managers, field supervision, and other stakeholders

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field and have at least ten years of project controls experience in power generation, preferably with field exposure. Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and the Microsoft Office Suite is required, along with strong knowledge of construction lifecycles, scheduling, cost control, and risk management; professional certifications such as PMI‑SP or PSP are a plus.
