Description
The Digital Team Lead (Civil) role provides technical leadership for civil digital design delivery, focusing on BIM processes using Revit and Civil 3D to ensure projects meet company and industry standards efficiently and consistently.
- Plan project requirements with project managers and allocate digital resources effectively.
- Lead and support BIM Coordinators and civil design teams producing project information models.
- Audit Revit and Civil 3D models for compliance with BIM standards and ISO 19650 principles.
- Identify capability gaps, develop training plans, and escalate risks to the Digital Management Team.
- Act as technical liaison among designers, clients, architects, and consultants for coordinated delivery.
- Produce accurate civil drawings and models in Revit and associated design tools.
- Integrate and promote Quality Assurance procedures across all digital civil outputs.
- Coordinate civil design packages with internal disciplines and external stakeholders.
- Develop, implement, and maintain BIM, Revit, and CAD standards across the business.
- Attend BIM and digital construction conferences and disseminate learnings to internal teams.
- Support creation of digital and technical content for marketing collateral and case studies.
Requirements
The position requires a strong civil engineering background, expertise in BIM and digital design tools, and the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams while maintaining high‑quality, compliant deliverables.
Candidates must hold a technical degree or equivalent experience, possess at least five years of BIM authoring and model management experience, and demonstrate advanced skills in 3D design software, coordination tools, and client communication.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and client‑facing skills.
- Minimum five years experience in Civil BIM, Digital Design, or BIM Coordination.
- Strong collaboration within multidisciplinary design teams.
- Solid understanding of civil engineering design principles, including drainage and basic highway design.
- Knowledge of relevant building regulations and industry standards affecting civil design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Microsoft Office; Solibri and ISO 19650 a plus.
- Technical degree or equivalent experience.
- At least five years of BIM element authoring and five years of digital delivery (model management).
- Comprehensive understanding of discipline relations and building systems operations.
- Advanced skillset in 3D design software, coordination tools, and document management infrastructure.
- Familiarity with industry standards, automation, programming applications, and content management concepts.
- Superior client service, analytical, problem‑solving, and leadership abilities.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and energetic work ethic.
