Based in Seattle, WA, the Project Engineer works on‑site during day shift, Monday‑Friday, designing, planning, and supporting audio‑visual, structured cabling, and security/access control systems for a variety of environments. The role collaborates closely with project managers, clients, and installation teams to deliver functional systems on time, within budget, and to technical specifications.
- Design and engineer AV, structured cabling, and security/access control systems, including drawings, schematics, and network topology
- Select appropriate equipment and create bill of materials and scope of work
- Support project managers throughout execution and guide installation/commissioning teams
- Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and final commissioning
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications
- Participate in client meetings and technical reviews
- Provide post‑installation technical support and system optimization
- Travel to project sites may be required
- Collaboration with cross‑functional teams

- Configure, program, and test DSPs, control systems, video switching, Ethernet certification, and security parameters
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in electronics, electrical, IT, or related field
- Strong understanding of AV systems and network support (audio, video, control, networking)
- Familiarity with AV equipment such as displays, projectors, microphones, DSPs, codecs, and control systems
- Ability to read and create technical drawings using AutoCAD or similar tools
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts (IP addressing, switches, VLANs)
- Strong problem‑solving, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
- Experience with manufacturers such as Crestron, AMX, Extron, QSC, Biamp, Cisco, Poly, CommScope/Systimax, Panduit, Superior Essex, Ortronics
- AV certifications (CTS, CTS‑D, CTS‑I) and Division 27 certifications (Cisco, CommScope/Systimax, BICSI/RCDD, ACT) are a plus
- Project experience in corporate, education, hospitality, or government sectors

Compensation for the Project Engineer role ranges from $80,168.40 to $90,815.33 annually, with the base salary set by location, experience, and market parity.
