The Director of Tax will lead MYR Group’s tax strategy, planning, compliance, and reporting functions across the United States and Canada. This role ensures adherence to federal, state, local, and international tax regulations, oversees tax provision processes under ASC 740, and maintains SOX compliance. The Director also manages an internal tax team and coordinates with third‑party tax service providers.
Key responsibilities include overseeing income‑tax compliance, tax provision, planning, audits, and reporting; developing a high‑performing tax team; and ensuring accurate quarterly and annual tax provisions with SEC footnote disclosures. The Director monitors tax legislation, implements strategies to minimize liabilities, forecasts tax expense and cash taxes, and drives process improvements and technology adoption. Collaboration with Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Legal, and external advisors supports M&A, restructuring, and overall tax risk management.

Ideal candidates possess at least 15 years of corporate tax experience in similarly sized public organizations, a solid background in U.S. tax compliance and GAAP, and experience leading tax teams and managing third‑party providers. Preferred qualifications include a CPA designation or advanced tax degree, proficiency with tax software such as Corptax, and strong leadership, communication, and project‑management skills.

The compensation package offers a salary range of $175,000‑$200,000 paid weekly, with up to two remote work days per week.
