As part of the construction team and under the direction of the Ontario General Superintendent, you will work in collaboration with the various teams and subcontractors on the different worksites for CMC . It implies, among others, to lead and manage the delivery of buildings to be constructed in one worksite, to manage simultaneously CMC employees & subcontractors of different trades involved in the construction’ sequence. Finally, you will also have to take charge of scheduling our project’s different phases of construction according to OSHA regulations in place and to do everything to avoid injuries and accidents on your worksite.
Participate sporadically in the recruitment of personnel
Ensure physical organization and cleanliness of worksite
Organize and direct daily meetings with foremen or subcontractors related to operations
Participate in work planning with the project manager
Complete required reports
Ensure that company policies and procedures are followed by all team members
Ensure compliance with work schedules, deadlines and production objectives
Read, analyze and ensure compliance with plans and specifications
Control the supply and safe storage of materials, equipment and tools
Deliver compliant, quality jobsites on schedule
Coordinate inspections by various professionals (soil engineers, building inspectors, etc.)
Promote and ensure compliance with the safety program among staff and participate in improvement measures.
Strong teamwork skills and commitment to safe practices.
ASSET: Experience with recent technology in worksite management systems – notably ProCore
Must have a valid social security card
Ability to make quick, informed, and innovative decisions.
Respectful and professional demeanor.
Valid driver's license.
Valid health and safety training for construction job sites (WHMIS, Working at Heights, etc.).
At least 10 years ‘experience as a commercial/industrial Superintendent
Minimum 10 years of experience as a Carpenter Foreman, Concrete Finisher or an equivalent Trade
Comfort with regular administrative IT tool like MS Office (Outlook, Excel & Word)
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
Willingness to become member of a Union – depending on project & project’s locations.
Attention to detail and a focus on customer satisfaction.
Knowledge of and adherence to safety standards through OHSA training and practical experience.
ESSENTIAL: Strong framing skills, experience with concrete formwork, placing, and finishing are all essentials to the position
Carpenter certification considered an asset.
Familiarity with regulations specific to various trades.
Intermediate proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
ASSET: Experienced with multi-million dollar construction projects, as well as smaller ones
