Assist in the completion of stage reports, design criteria documents and performance specifications.
Conduct ad hoc tasks and assist in the smooth running of our projects and be a key part of making a success of our growing team.
Review of material submittals and material approval documents.
Review project specification to highlight façade specific requirements, flag performance criteria that need to be rectified, considering local codes and project requirements.
Review of shop drawings taking into consideration the performance criteria for the project, including tolerances, structural supports, thermal and acoustic performances.
Conduct 1D thermal performance and condensation risk analysis with assistance from the senior engineer.
Collaborate with senior team members to ensure that facade designs comply with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Assist the team in reviewing contractor technical submissions and attend contractor workshops.
Collaborate closely with UAE team and provide specialist input during design and tender phases of projects to resolve technical issues and ensure integration of façade designs seamlessly into building overall plans.
Liaise with manufacturers and system suppliers to better understand capabilities and limitations of their products.
Develop concepts and structural checks for proposed systems, as hand sketches or basic CAD drawing to be developed by façade designer.
Coordinate with internal and external teams including Architecture, Structural Engineering, MEP Engineering, Acoustic Engineering, Fire and Life Safety, Façade Access, Project Management etc.
Assist the team in the design of projects, technically, and understand the best facade solutions.
Conduct glazing and framing sizing calculations using finite element software such as Strand 7, STAAD.
Consultant review of façade structural calculations provided by subcontractors.

Working knowledge in AutoCAD/Revit to be able to extract information needed for engineering verification.
Strong track record of working cross-functionally within a complex matrix organization.
Experience in forming strong and collaborative relationships with team members across different regions and focus areas.
Proficient in façade & structural finite element software, e.g. Strand 7, STAAD
Ability to do detailed finite element checks for façade structural components.
Minimum 8 years’ experience in Façade Engineering, preferably with a mix of consultancy and contracting experience. Experience working with Middle East projects would be essential.
Meticulous attention to detail with ability to schedule and manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
Experience working in the office and on site.
Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering from a reputed University.
Sound knowledge in façade systems and design and relevant codes and standards.
Ability to hand sketch and present ideas during meetings and presentations.
Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
Exceptional skills in written English and technical report writing.
