The CAD Designer will translate architectural documents into detailed, manufacturable cabinetry designs, incorporating material, colour, finish, lighting, and ergonomic considerations. They will also ensure designs meet quality, compliance, and budget requirements while supporting continuous improvement of design processes.
- Collaborate on cabinetry layout design using floorplans and organizational needs.
- Produce design concepts, mock‑ups, and final designs that meet functional and aesthetic goals.
- Maintain and expand the cabinet design software catalogue to align with evolving project standards.
- Create detailed technical drawings and 3‑D models of walls, dividers, displays, elevations, and cross‑sections.
- Manage construction library data, ensuring accuracy and consistency across design assets.
- Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and AutoCAD illustrations while engaging subject‑matter experts.
- Advise on materials, colours, finishes, lighting, and ergonomic considerations.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to improve design quality and efficiency.
- Ensure all designs meet manufacturability, quality, and compliance standards within timelines and budgets.
- Optimize space utilization, material costs, and modularity for scalable, cost‑effective solutions.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Craft and Design, Furniture Design, or possess equivalent industry experience, along with 3‑5 years of hands‑on CAD design work. Strong knowledge of cabinetry and woodworking manufacturing, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and excellent collaboration and communication skills are essential.

- 3–5 years of hands‑on CAD design experience.
- Ability to read and translate blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications into cabinetry designs.
- Experience with full‑cycle furniture design from concept development to production‑ready outputs.
- Strong knowledge of cabinetry and woodworking manufacturing processes, materials, finishes, hardware, and construction techniques.
- Awareness of residential construction practices and relevant building codes and occupational health regulations.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and relationship‑building abilities across cross‑functional teams.
- Demonstrated integrity and commitment to high‑quality work.
- Experience in a roboticized manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with CNC programming, 3‑D modelling, AutoCAD, Mozaik, SketchUp, 20/20 or similar software.
- Experience with HOMAG iX software.
- Familiarity with legislative standards such as building codes and occupational health regulations.
Benefits
