The assistant is responsible for organizing, planning, and developing a variety of programs and daily activities that are fun, promote physical conditioning, improve appetite, and foster new friendships among residents.
- Create and adhere to a monthly activity calendar.
- Interact with residents at all care levels with empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect.
- Coordinate special events for residents, families, and staff; assist community relations as needed.
- Transport and supervise residents on outings, shopping trips, and doctor’s visits.
- Screen, recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all residents.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to staff to meet performance standards.
- Facilitate and take minutes at resident council meetings.
- Follow up on concerns voiced at resident council meetings with appropriate department managers.
- Provide resolution for reports and document resolution at the next resident council meeting.
- Observe and report daily changes in residents’ health and emotional condition to supervisor.
- Set and manage priorities.
- Respond promptly and courteously to resident assistance requests, phone calls, and requests from families and visitors.
- Observe and immediately report safety hazards to supervisor.
- Know, understand, and follow established policies and procedures in emergencies.
- Serve as essential personnel during emergencies or inclement weather.
- Work as a team player with associates and management to accomplish assignments.
- Comply with attendance and call‑off policy.
- Attend and participate in trainings, in‑service, and mandatory meetings.
- Wear clean and appropriate dress per dress code policy.
- Refrain from discussing resident care issues with families and visitors; refer inquiries to supervisor.
- Enhance and improve the SRI experience with zestful activities for residents.
- Demonstrate and promote SRI’s core value of the golden rule.

- Know, understand, and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in mentoring new employees.
- Serve and assist residents in the dining room at breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living when needed.

The position demands strong communication skills, including the ability to read and interpret safety and operational documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively to groups. Basic math skills for handling monetary and measurement calculations and common‑sense reasoning for following detailed instructions are also required.
Physical requirements include regular standing, walking, reaching, and speaking, with occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The work environment may expose employees to blood‑borne pathogens and requires adherence to safety and emergency protocols.

Benefits
The Activities Assistant position is located at Sunflower Springs at Trinity in Trinity, FL (ZIP 34655) with a salary of $15.00 hourly. The full‑time schedule includes days on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, with Tuesdays and Thursdays off. The role requires comfort driving the community bus off‑property for resident activities.
