In this role you will lead structural engineering design efforts, collaborate closely with architects and engineers, plan and coordinate tasks, mentor team members, oversee workplans, develop fees, keep project managers informed of progress, perform analysis and design, produce drawings and construction documents, act as the primary structural contact during construction administration, and engage in virtual teaming and site observations.

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering (master’s preferred), have 8‑10 years of experience designing steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures for laboratories, healthcare, corporate, commercial, and educational facilities, and be a licensed PE and SE in California. Required knowledge includes CBC, ASCE 7, ASCE 41, ASIC, ACI, NDS, and related codes, proficiency with software such as ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, RISA, Enercalc, and strong planning, organization, communication, and project management skills, plus a passion for innovative design.
The salary range for this position is $100,700‑$131,400, dependent on experience, education, licensure, and skill level. Employees working more than 24 hours weekly are eligible for HGA’s benefit programs, including annual and success‑sharing bonuses, 401(k) contributions, paid parental leave, medical, dental, life insurance, PTO, and short‑ and long‑term disability coverage.
