New hires will support the power electrical team by analyzing systems, building software models, and producing reports for commercial, industrial, and generation projects. They will conduct load flow, reactive power, arc‑flash, short‑circuit, coordination, transient, and harmonic studies using tools such as ETAP, PSS/E, and PSCAD. Collaboration with the electrical team includes creating calculations, drawings, and assisting with design specifications and plan support. All work is reviewed for quality to ensure compliance with Kimley‑Horn standards while continuously expanding industry knowledge.
Kimley-Horn is seeking Electrical Engineering graduates to join its Orlando, Florida office on the Power Delivery team, focusing on Power Studies. This role is on-site and not remote.
Applicants must hold an ABET‑accredited Electrical Engineering B.S. or M.S. degree by Summer 2026. Experience with PSCAD, PSS/E, ETAP, WinIGS, or CDEGS and proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office are preferred. Candidates should understand or be eager to learn NEC 2020, IEEE standards, and the fundamentals of load flow, coordination, short‑circuit, and arc‑flash studies. The role requires managing multiple project teams, working independently or collaboratively, and thriving in a fast‑paced environment.
