The role involves designing and evaluating waterway structures, hydraulic systems, and related infrastructure, as well as leading technical work and mentoring staff.
- Design and evaluate waterway structures, locks, dams, hydropower, flood risk management, ecosystem restoration, and waterfront facility projects.
- Select appropriate hydrologic/hydraulic modeling approaches and tools, set up and solve analyses.
- Conduct safety and condition inspection surveys, gather measurements, photos, videos, and produce reports.
- Apply and adapt standard engineering techniques and procedures to existing designs.
- Prepare construction documents, including plans and specifications.
- Lead and mentor junior staff members.
- Develop work scopes, technical proposals, and manage hydrologic and hydraulic design aspects of projects.

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and have at least seven years of water resources engineering experience. An Engineer in Training certification is required, and a professional PE license is highly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
- Minimum 7 years of water resources engineering experience.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification; PE license highly preferred.
- Familiarity with HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, SWMMM, ArcGIS, and SITES.
- Experience with USACE, NEPA, Civil Works, and permitting processes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English for professional communication.
